    MCA  Movie
    Discussion Group

Enjoy eating? Enjoy movies? Enjoy an energetic discussion?  Join us for our MCA Film Discussion Group.

Each month, the 'movie selection committee' chooses a movie-of-the month, which all members see at their leisure.  Then, we meet at host couples' houses for our discussion and food!

We do try to have a food topic that goes with the movie when possible.  Members have enjoyed this idea over the last few years.  Some people are extremely creative!

The size of each group is limited, based on the number of couples who can host each month.  We usually need 4 or 5 hosts per month.  Group size depends on the size of the homes.

As members become more comfortable with the group, we encourage people to volunteer their homes.  It is not fair for us to always rely on the same people to host.

If you wish to register but find yourself on the waitlist, please contact Spencer to include you.

Here is an opportunity to see and be guided on a tour of a unique art collection at the Baker Museum. The works in the collection consist primarily of contemporary glass sculpture. The artists are the masters as well as mid-career and emerging artists in the contemporary studio glass movement. The work is American as well as international in scope with work from the Czech Republic, Europe, Australia, Japan, Canada and Cuba. In addition to sculpture from glass you will see significant works of ceramic sculpture both figurative and abstract.

We hope that the experience will be a feast for your eyes and senses.

Beatlemania Comes to Naples: Live with The Fab Three

After more than six decades following their meteoric rise to fame in the early 1960’s, The Beatles remain as one of the most popular, if not the most popular, rock and roll bands in history. Even after all this time, their music is still widely played all over the world. Beatles tribute bands number in the hundreds, and in 2028 a four-part biopic on the Fab Four will appear in theaters. It seems their popularity only continues to grow with time. Come take a walk down Memory Lane as our own Ken Brown, Frank Muller, and Randy Solomon offer a live retrospective of Beatles hits over the years, complete with back stories of each song. This promises to be a crowd pleasing performance that all will enjoy.

Our Fab Three includes Ken Brown, Frank Muller and Randy Solomon who are members of the  Alta Rockers Band, and have each been playing Beatles tunes for as long as they can remember.

    Keewaydin

    Island Adventure

    Registration opens 1/30/26

    A coed event

Travel by boat to Keewaydin Island – a beautiful barrier island between Naples and Marco Island – accessible only by boat. There you will be able to take that long romantic walk on the beach that you’ve dreamed about; lounge in the sun;  play beach games; or even bring your fishing gear. Or, you can simply relax under a beach umbrella with a refreshing beverage and watch the waves. Our route takes us past the inlets of Port Royal, which could be a side trip if desired.

We get to Keewaydin Island by rental boats and private boats. In prior years, several dozen MCA members and spouses participated, so this is a real beachapalooza! It’s a terrific outing! Boating experience is not required... nor is beach experience.

For those who do not have access to a private boat, we rent 12 person pontoon boats at the Naples Marina at Bayfront (Goodlette and 41)The cost of the rental boats is $50/person.  Boat rental fees are refundable only up to March 20th, or on March 29th due to inclement weather. If you have no boating experience, we have enough MCA members with boat captain experience, so you can just relax as a passenger and enjoy the trip.

Please note: We will be monitoring Red Tide and we may need to cancel if levels are high in the area on the day of the trip.
