Hands on CPR Training and More!

What to do until the EMT gets to you? This will be live training First Aid, CPR, AED, Auto-Injector, Opioid Antidote and other topics decided by the group.

This experience is designed to provide participants with training and confidence in an emergency situation. You will learn what to do until the EMTs arrive to take over.

Topics will be:

Hands On Practical Experience (HOPE) Chest compression-only CPR/AED, Stop the Bleed is a national curriculum created by US Dept of Homeland Security as a response to increased gun violence and mass casualty incidents. The recognition of the Auto-Injector and use of an epi-pen. The recognition and use of different Opioid Antidote like Naloxone/Narcan.

This is the real deal but without certification.

Refreshments will be provided.

This program is open to MCA and WCA members.

Why wait until next season to play Canasta when we have a minyan in Toronto?

Howard and I are floating the idea of biweekly Canasta, for men only, and hosted at one of our houses. Simple dinner (most likely ordering in) at 6pm followed by Canasta at 7pm.

There are 7 of us hosers who play Canasta and we will book 4 and manage a waitlist if necessary.

The Passion of Collecting: Stories in Glass and Ceramics from the Sibrack Collection features 74 works by 60 artists.

You and a guest are invited to experience a private guided tour at the Baker Museum led by Rita and Larry Sibrack, who recently donated their collection to the museum. During the tour, they will share personal insights into their passion for form, color, texture, shadow, and negative space, as well as their deep appreciation for how glass and ceramic art can tell compelling stories.

Free to Baker Museum members. $10/pp payable at the door to the Baker Museum for non-museum members

Sharpen those brains! The ever-popular MCA trivia night returns for a Summer Edition on July 29th. Get ready for some major-league brain stretching as you and your table-mates compete to be one of the evening's top two (prize winning!!!) tables. We'll also have additional Mystery Prizes for Bonus Questions throughout the evening.

The cost is $18 a person (payable online via credit card). Tables can include up to six people. Register a full table or leave it to us to put you together with other MCAers. There'll be fun galore - and snacks and desserts, too!

In June of 2018 Brad went viral around the world! Dry Bar Comedy posted a video on Facebook and it had 36 million views in 10 days. They quickly followed with another and they combined for 47 million views in 11 days! His CD shot to Number 1on the iTunes Comedy chart. Brad’s Dry Bar Comedy videos currently have a combined 108 million views! Needless to say, he’s much in demand!

MCA has reserved a special block of tickets at $22/pp, $10 off the regular price!

Off the Hook has an extensive menu and each ticket holder has a 2 drink/food item minimum, payable by you individually at the time of the show.

You and your guest are invited to hear about a unique classroom taking shape beneath the waves off Florida's coast. In the Gulf of Mexico, about seven and a half miles west of Bonita Beach and 30 feet below the surface, Kimberly's Reef is growing an artificial reef complex created by The Water School at Florida Gulf Coast University.

WGCU Public Media produced a documentary about the project titled "Dispatches From Kimberly's Reef." Pam James, Executive Producer of Content, will discuss the film, the scientific insights it reveals, and its significance both regionally and around the world.

Israel and War - 2027 Update

MCA Member Steve Schreier

Israel, the Middle East and the entire world have been in a state of turmoil and confusion since Oct 7, 2023. For the past several years Steve has presented insights, analyses and predictions about the future for Israel.

He will review his predictions and events since his last presentation in February 2026.

In addition, he will present his thoughts into the current state of affairs between Israel and the world and predictions about what we might look for in the next period of time

Presenter: Steve Schreier, a resident of Southwest Florida since 2015, and the president of the Schreier Group, which provides consulting to non-profit organizations and philanthropic foundations. Prior to that, Steve served as consultant and Senior Vice President of the American Technion Society from 1986-2007, during which he was responsible for the conceptualization, creation and implementation of a comprehensive development structure and program throughout the United States. He has also served in executive positions in Jewish Federations and as a community and campaign consultant for the Council of Jewish Federations.

Steve's personal ties to Israel are deep-rooted. He lived on a kibbutz for a year of work-study in 1962, and moved to Israel in 1970 to conduct research on his doctorate.
