  MCA Wisdom Years - Group 1

  Lead by Mel Zahn

  MCA’s – Wisdom Years Groups are “a Band of Brothers,” groups that foster close long-lasting personal friendships. We all need friends to share our joys and successes, but we especially need close friends who will listen to our challenges, never judging, and who will actively help when needed. Men are very good at sharing stories. We’re not so good about sharing our feelings with other men.

  Meetings give us all a chance to move beyond this as we come together and share our joy, our concerns, and what comes up for us as we move through the current phase of our lives. Topics could range from relationships with our children, our grandchildren, our spouses; issues of health, mortality, honor, purpose, and commitment. These are not therapy groups as their license is built on the close relationships developed within each group.

  Relationships are the mission of each group, and this spirit has made it a meaningful experience for those of us in the groups. The number one rule for the group is confidentiality: “What is said in the group stays in the group.”

  Hardly a day goes by without some news coming from Israel, be it political, economic, military-related or social.

  This new discussion group will be devoted to these current events. With a limited audience, participants will have an opportunity to dig into these pressing issues of the day and share opinions with fellow MCA members.
