Babcock Ranch

Eco-Tour:

A True Wildlife Adventure!

(Coed)

Enjoy participating in an eco-tour at the famous Babcock Ranch! Babcock Ranch is approximately 91,000 acres with more than 73,000 preserved as environmentally valuable areas. The Ranch still ranks as the single largest preservation purchase in Florida state history!

MCA has arranged to participate in a 90-minute open air bus tour which covers four separate ecosystems, including the historic Telegraph Express Swamp. In addition, we will view alligators, birds, deer, wild hogs, wild turkeys, sandhill cranes and numerous other wild animals which regularly approach the touring buses. Babcock is still a working ranch and we will likely be visited by cows bred since pioneering days and cowboys working with quarter horses.

This is a true wilderness adventure. The ranch also includes swamp buggy tours, miles of walking trails, and a new downtown, part of a planned solar panel community which will eventually include 25,000 homes for participants to view on their own following the tour and lunch.

Lunch will follow the tour and will include a buffet offering hot dogs, hamburgers, and Grilled Chicken, with a side of ranch beans, coleslaw, and a soft drink.

Transportation: To keep the cost of this event down, everyone will be on their own to get to and from the Babcock Ranch. We will circulate the names and contact information of those people participating in this event so participants can arrange their own car pool if they choose to do so. If you are unable to find transportation and cannot drive on your own to and/or from this event, please contact Gary Faber and, if possible, transportation will be arranged with one of the other participants to this event.
