The Art and Politics of Arthur Szyk

presented by

Neil Adelman

This Jewish Polish-American was an important political cartoonist during WWII. He is also known for the beautiful haggadah he illustrated in the late 1930s. it is closely connected to the fate awaiting European Jewry and the Nazi menace. Szyk also strongly supported Jewish causes during his life. He did many illustrations for the new State of Israel. My talk contains many illustrations of Szyk’s work.
