Many of us were aware of Shari Lewis (born Phyllis Naomi Hurwitz) and her sock puppets Lamb Chop, Hush Puppie and Charlie Horse.
But she was also a multi-talented entertainer and business-woman. She was so good that NBC canceled the long running Howdy Doody show to make room for Shari and Lamb Chop.
She wrote 60 children’s books, as well as episodes for “Star Trek”. She guest starred on "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.", "Love, American Style,” and many other TV shows of that time. Oh yeah, she also conducted a number of symphony orchestras.
Shari & Lamb Chop is directed by Emmy Award winning director Lisa D’Apolito, who also made “Love, Gilda”(2018.)
This film has been shown only a few times. We are honored to be one of the very first venues to screen it. It is so new that there is not yet a trailer.
Trust us on this one --- it's a mix of nostalgia and revelation that everyone will love.
The film runs 90 minutes
