MCA Rules (updated June 2024)
A. Federation
As part of the JFGN, MCA is bound by the rules and regulations promulgated by the Jewish Federation of Greater Naples. For example: observation of the sabbath and Yontif (no work, no emails); food needs to be “Kosher style” (no mixing of milk and meat, no pork, no shellfish of any kind).
B. Co-ed Events
MCA events are for Men. Any MCA co-ed event needs to be approved by the MCA Board of Directors.
C. Guest Policy
There are two types of guests: 1. Visitors – Men who are visiting current MCA members for a period of 2 weeks or less. 2. Prospective Members – Residents of the greater Naples area who are interested in learning about and experiencing MCA to decide if they want to join. Prospective Members must be designated by the Head of Member Engagement.
Guests may attend MCA activities subject to the following limitations:
1. They are sponsored by someone whose MCA membership status is Active. 2. They have met the same conditions imposed on MCA members who are participating in the activity (training, experience, fees, waivers, etc.) 3. They are of the same gender as other participants in the activity. MCA Rules (updated June 2024) 4. Their attendance does not prevent other MCA members from attending the event. For capacity-controlled events, guests may register no sooner than 2 days before the event. 5. They have been pre-approved by the coordinator of the activity and/or the Head of Member Engagement.
Limitations
1. Visitors may attend one (1) ‘Member’s Only’ event during each week of their stay. They may attend unlimited ‘Open to the Public’ events.
2. The number of events a Prospective Member may attend will be determined by the Head of Member Engagement.
D. Check Signing
Two (2) MCA officers’ signatures are required on any check drawn on the MCA checking account up to $1000.00. Checks written in an amount greater than $1000.00 require a third signature from one of the designated officers of JFGN. All checks require the presentation of an invoice for the amount requested, along with the approval of payment by either the President or Treasurer of the MCA.
E. Cancelations:
The Policy:
For MCA luncheons: No refund if cancellation is within 7 days of the event.
For Dinner Dance: No refund if cancellation is within 21 days of the event.
For all other paid events: No refund if cancellation is within 5 days of the event.
F. Offsite meetings
MCA members will follow and adhere to any rules imposed by the establishments where we are meeting. For example, Audubon has a no shorts policy in their banquet room.
